At Desert Dermatology patient care and treatment is designed to each individual patient. Dr. Goedken strives to provide up to date, technologically advanced, compassionate care to patients and families.

MICHELLE GOEDKEN D.O., FAAD, FAOCD

Double Board Certified Dermatologist & Mohs Surgeon

Dr. Goedken is a double board certified dermatologist and Mohs surgeon practicing in Tucson Arizona. She received her undergraduate degree in biomedical science from Grand Valley State University, Allendale, MI.

Dr. Goedken then completed medical school at Des Moines University Osteopathic Medical Center in Des Moines IA, where she also dual degreed and earned a master of science in anatomy degree. During her time at Des Moines University she was president of Sigma Sigma Phi medical honor society.

Following medical school Dr. Goedken completed a traditional rotating internship at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. She completed her dermatology residency at Affiliated Dermatology in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she was chief resident her final year.

Memberships

Dr. Goedken is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. Additional professional memberships include American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Osteopathic Association, Tucson Society of Women Physicians, and the Skin Cancer Foundation.

Dr. Goedken has been practicing general and surgical dermatology for the past 6 years. She enjoys full spectrum dermatology care to patients of all ages. In addition to clinical work she advocates for skin cancer education and prevention as Mrs. Arizona International 2022. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children.

Andrea Steele, Physician Assistant, PA

Andrea Steele is a Physician Assistant based in Tucson, Arizona. She received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Washington State University and her Master of Medical Science from Midwestern University. Andrea has been working in the field of medicine for 14 years, with 9 years of experience in dermatology.

Andrea is passionate about providing quality care to her patients and has received positive feedback from her patients for her excellent bedside manner and professionalism. She is skilled in diagnosing and treating a wide range of skin conditions, including benign and malignant skin, hair, and nail diseases. Andrea is also experienced in performing procedures such as skin biopsies, cryotherapy, and excisions.

In her free time, Andrea enjoys traveling and exploring this beautiful world of ours. She also enjoys spending time with her busy family and you may find her around town with her daughters as they perform dance routines at different events.

Amy Irwin, NP

Amy Irwin is a Nurse Practitioner based in Tucson, Arizona. She received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from The College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, MN. In 2004, she relocated to Tucson, AZ where she worked as a Hematology/Oncology RN for 5 years. She obtained her Master’s degree in nursing as a Nurse Practitioner in 2009 from the University of Arizona and became certified by the ANCC. She has been a practicing NP since 2009 in the fields of Hematology/Oncology, Orthopedic surgery, and General/Cosmetic Dermatology. She obtained her neurotoxin and dermal filler certification and subsequently completed an aesthetic preceptorship at Auri Aesthetics in Phoenix in 2023

Amy loves spending time with her patients and is passionate about patient education and ensuring her patients understand their diagnoses and treatment options. She is a huge advocate of skin cancer prevention and early detection and is thrilled to be a part of the Desert Dermatology team where she can partner with patients on this regularly. Amy enjoys providing all general dermatologic care to patients and is experienced in multiple different medical procedures, including extensive work with suturing and surgical wound closure. She is also skilled in the administration of Botox as well as other skin rejuvination treatments designed to enhance each individual’s natural features.

Outside of work, Amy most enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters. She also loves running, hiking, indulging in a good book, and traveling.

Caitlyn Villa, CMLT, LE under Amy Irwin, NP

“I am Caitlyn Villa, a certified medical laser technician and licensed medical aesthetician with a dedication to patient safety and satisfaction. Originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, I have been passionate about skincare and aesthetics since 2009. I received my certification as a laser technician in June 2017 and became a licensed aesthetician in September 2020. Over the years, I have honed my skills and expertise to help my patients achieve their skincare goals with confidence.

Outside of my professional life, I am happily married and have a wonderful daughter. I love dogs and beach vacations. I look forward to bringing my experience and commitment to excellence to Desert Dermatology, and I am excited about the opportunity to make a positive impact on my patients’ lives.”
